Opposistional Defiant Disorder

Oppositional Defiant Disorder.
ODD is another tough disorder to deal with.
Einstein was diagnosed with this also in 2004.
The name says it all!
The following information was found at webmd
Symptoms of ODD
*Repeated temper tantrums
*EXCESSIVE arguing
*Refusing to comply with requests and rules
*Questions rules
*Deliberately trying to annoy/upset others
OR - being easily annoyed by others
*Blaming others for mistakes
*FREQUENT outbursts of anger
*Spiteful & seeking revenge
*Saying mean & hateful things when upset
*Easily frustrated
*low self-esteem

There are still alot of unanswered questions regarding the causes of ODD, but here are a few thoughts...
Biological - defects in the brain involving neurotransmitters. Also, many with ODD have other issues as well like ADHD, depression and anxiety.

Genetic - many with ODD have family members with a mental illness.

Environmental - a dysfunctional family life, mental illness or inconsistent discipline may contribute to ODD.

Treatment for ODD includes therapy and medication for the co-existing disorders.
