The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... The sun is shinning and it is HOT already!

I am thinking... About what is wrong with Pearles head? Made her an appointment to get her rabies shot this afternoon and shortly after that she developed a huge lump on her head and her eye is swollen shut! Wondering if it's a bee? Or what?

I am thankful for...My husband and the special time we had this weekend.

From the learning rooms... We got our school order! YEAH! :D

From the kitchen... I have a flower bouquet from our Girl Scout Spring Ceremony Sunday on the counter.
Einstein is out there arguing with everyone. :(

I am wearing... A black tank top and maroon long shorts.

I am creating... A list for fair. Drop & Adds are coming up in just a few weeks so trying to get ready for that.

I am going... To take Bug for goat chores then do school and then take Pearle to the vet.

I am reading... Well....need to try and finish Pride & Prejudice but haven't picked it up all week. :S

I am hoping... To have time for both Wii fit & the hose this afternoon! lol.

I am hearing... Hunny playing with dolls, and the fans weird noise.

Around the house... Everyone is getting ready for the day. Lots to do that I'd rather not think about!

One of my favorite things... Summer! I do not like the humidity but love the sun & warmth.

A few plans for the rest of the week: T-ball/Softball, School, Work, rabbit show.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... It's looking like a beautiful day.

I am thinking... About the country song "Don't Blink" and how true it is.

I am thankful for... Each day I have with my family.

From the learning rooms... Hunny is READING! Whoot! She is also learning about trees in Interlock. We are learning about Ancient Rome in Weaver. I love it when the girls share with others or can apply our studies outside the 'classroom'.

From the kitchen... Sits mail to send and dishes to do. Sis has to catch them up this morning since we had 4H last night (community service of road clean up) and her chores didn't get done.

I am wearing... Still in pj's.

I am creating... An atmosphere of peace and love in our home. Some days, that is quite a chore! :S

I am going... To enjoy each moment I have while my kids are young.

I am reading... Daughter of the Loom by Tracie Peterson & Judith Miller. Almost finished.

I am hoping... To get the living room organized (again) this week!

I am hearing... Bug on her DS with Good Ole Boy helping her. It's new and they are trying to figure out something. Hunny is watching Little House season 1 - Johnnie Johnson episode.

Around the house... There is much to do! :( This season is always so busy and many chores fall to the wayside in our craziness.

One of my favorite things... Liz Curtis Higgs Scottish tales. I was very excited to have won a contest she had on facebook. :) I will be getting a wonderful prize from her. How awesome!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Goat care. School. T-ball practice & softball games. Stained glass class for Sis. Field Day for our local homechool group. Einstein has Dr. appointments. Work.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...
Taken by Sis coming home from Leather class one night. She is calling it 'Midnight Blues' and might enter it in fair.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... It is dreary! Rainy and cold.

I am thinking... About how blessed I am to be a mom. Had a great Mother's Day with my husband and kids.

I am thankful for...A roof over my head and food on my table.

From the learning rooms...There is much going on. Hunny is learning about bushes & seed bearing plants in Interlock. She is doing marvelous in her reading lessons! She is such a smart cookie and always full of questions, many of them very deep and often on a scientific angle. Future scientist? The other girls are still working on Government and Ancient Rome in Weaver. Sis has been logging some hours in autoshop but is bummed that the rain will cancel today's class. Einstein competed as an alternate in the regional spelling bee on Wednesday. He did very well and placed third in the alternate round.

From the kitchen... Smells of the steak & eggs Good Ole Boy made for us. Have chicken out for tonight's dinner. No softball tonight since most of the team is involved in a play so we can have a nice dinner.

I am wearing... Black jeans & blue teddy bear sweatshirt & tennis shoes

I am creating... A learning lifestyle in my children. At least I hope that I am! Learning doesn't take place only within four walls, nor does it ever cease. I hope to instill in my children a love for learning and a desire to seek out knowledge and wisdom in a variety of ways/places.

I am going... to become more organized one of these days...

I am reading... Daughter Of The Loom by Tracie Peterson & Judith Miller

I am hoping... To be able to order more curriculum soon as Sis has finished her math books.

I am hearing... Narnia playing in the background.

Around the house...It is quiet. I overslept this morning and with the dreary day and rain everyone is low key so far today.

One of my favorite things... The smell of lilacs that the girls have been bringing me.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Goat care, t-ball practice starts tomorrow, softball, stained glass class, Sis has training for working at day camp.

The Simple Woman's Daybook

FOR TODAY

Outside my window... It is GORGEOUS! The sun is shining and a gentle breeze is blowing.

I am thinking... That everyone needs to get busy! :)

I am thankful for... Good Ole Boy being home today.

From the learning rooms... Good Ole Boy is getting ready to take Bug down to care for her goat. She has been studying goat body parts already this morning and working on her project record sheet for fair. Our current Bible studies are studying prophecies. Today in Weaver we will be learning about The Roman Empire compared with Rome today. The influence of the Roman language (Latin) and how it influenced many other languages. (Very good "intro" as we will be adding Latin to our studies come fall!)  They will also have some writing assignments from Wisdom Words - mostly sentence structure right now although Bug is also working on parts of speech. Hunny is still learning about grasses in Interlock and is doing some reading & writing. It's wonderful to see her read! Sis wants to work with her so I just pulled out "Teach your child to read in 100 easy lessons" for them.  Good Ole Boy and Sis plan on getting another autoshop lesson in this afternoon, they are both so excited about this project of theirs.

From the kitchen... I have my Calm Seas candle burning - smells so good.

I am wearing... Black jeans, brown striped tank and tennis shoes.

I am creating... wonderful memories of my family.

I am going... To enjoy every moment today as the years are speeding by to quickly.

I am reading... Daughter of the Loom by Tracie Peterson & Judith Miller
(yes, Pride & Prejudice is still awaiting...)

I am hoping... For wonderful attitudes today from all around.

I am hearing... Birds outside, Hunny matching cards and Sis is working on math.

Around the house... As always there is much to do. Sigh. Laundry will be the first thing tackled and then trying to tidy the table as school has been happening there lately and so it's loaded with books, papers and the globe. The Internet people will hopefully be here this afternoon so need to TRY and keep the house presentable today! :)

One of my favorite things... The lilac bouquet Bug & Sis brought me last night.

A few plans for the rest of the week: School, Einstein is in the Regional Spelling Bee tomorrow night, 4H activities and softball.

Here is picture for thought I am sharing...

 Bugs goat Chippers.
